Your annual tune-up covers both your heating and cooling systems in a single visit — we check and test both on the same trip. The visit includes a full 21-point inspection, deep coil cleaning with professional degreaser, refrigerant level check, electrical connection tightening, thermostat calibration, and filter change (bring your own filter). On your first Care Plan visit, up to 1 lb of R-410A refrigerant is included at no extra charge ($100 value) if a top-off is needed. On subsequent annual visits, refrigerant is billed at $100/lb for R-410A or $150/lb for R-22 if needed. The trip fee is waived for all Care Plan members.

When is the tune-up scheduled?

Tune-ups are scheduled between October and February — the off-peak shoulder season. This is the ideal time to service your system before winter heating demand and well before the summer cooling rush. You'll receive a reminder when it's time to book, and members get priority scheduling to lock in their preferred date.

What does 'service call trip fee waived' mean?

If your system needs a repair, Bradford normally charges a service call / trip fee to diagnose the problem. As a Care Plan member, that fee is waived — you only pay for parts and labor on the repair itself. This alone can save you $59–$95 on a single repair call.

What is priority scheduling?

Care Plan members are scheduled ahead of non-members. During peak summer months when Bradford's calendar fills quickly, members get first access to available appointment slots. You won't be waiting days for service when your AC goes down in 110° heat.

Is the plan per unit or per home?

Accepted Answer

The 1-Unit Plan covers one HVAC system (one AC/heat pump + air handler or furnace). If your home has two separate systems — for example, two AC units serving different zones — the 2-Unit Plan covers both at a discounted combined rate of $282/year.

Does the plan cover parts and refrigerant?

The tune-up, filter change (customer-supplied filter), and deep coil cleaning are fully covered. On your first Care Plan tune-up visit, up to 1 lb of R-410A refrigerant is included at no extra charge if needed ($100 value). On subsequent annual visits, refrigerant is billed at $100/lb for R-410A or $150/lb for R-22 if a top-off is needed — the same rate as a standard service call. Members have the trip fee waived, so you're only paying for the actual repair cost — no diagnostic charge on top.

How do I know if my system needs refrigerant?

Most homeowners can’t tell on their own — low refrigerant doesn’t always cause obvious symptoms until the system is struggling. The most common signs are: your AC is running but the air coming out isn’t as cold as it used to be, ice forming on the refrigerant lines or the indoor coil, or the system runs constantly without reaching the set temperature. During your Care Plan tune-up, Bradford checks the refrigerant level as part of the 21-point inspection and measures your system’s temperature split (the difference between supply and return air). If the split is outside the normal 15–22°F range, that’s a reliable indicator the system is low. If a top-off is needed, we’ll tell you before adding anything — and on your first Care Plan visit, up to 1 lb of R-410A is included at no extra charge.

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can cancel before your next annual renewal with no penalty. If you cancel mid-year and your tune-up has not yet been used, a pro-rata refund is available. If your tune-up has already been completed, no refund applies for the remaining months.

What if I sell my home?

Accepted Answer

The Care Plan is fully transferable to the new homeowner — a genuine selling point for your listing. Simply notify Bradford and we'll update the membership. The new owner inherits the remaining term and all benefits.

Do you service my brand of equipment?

Accepted Answer

Bradford services all major HVAC brands — Trane, RunTru, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, American Standard, York, and more. The Care Plan is brand-agnostic. Bradford is an authorized Trane and RunTru dealer for installations, but services all brands for maintenance and repairs.

The Service Experts Advantage Program is a lease model — you pay $75–$150/month and never own your equipment. Bradford's Care Plan is a simple service agreement: $180/year for one unit, $282/year for two. You own your equipment outright. No lease, no buyout clause, no complications when you sell your home.
