Bradford uses only OEM original manufacturer motors — the same part your system was built with. Call for a flat-rate quote on your specific system.
Several factors determine the final cost of a blower motor replacement. Bradford provides a flat-rate quote after diagnosing your specific system — no surprises.
Single-speed PSC (Permanent Split Capacitor) motors are the standard in most Arizona systems built before 2015. Variable-speed ECM (Electronically Commutated Motor) motors are found in higher-efficiency systems. ECM motors are significantly more expensive to replace but use 50–75% less electricity and provide better humidity control.
Bradford uses only OEM original manufacturer motors — the same part your system was designed and built with. Aftermarket motors may appear cheaper upfront but often have different RPM ratings, shaft dimensions, or capacitor requirements that cause premature failure or reduced airflow. OEM motors maintain your manufacturer warranty.
Motor availability and cost varies by brand. Bradford stocks common OEM motors for Trane, Carrier, Lennox, and Rheem — the most common brands in Arizona West Valley homes — enabling same-day repairs in most cases. Less common brands may require a parts order.
Some air handlers allow in-place motor replacement; others require removing the entire blower assembly. Attic-mounted air handlers in Arizona homes can add labor time due to heat and access constraints. Bradford provides a firm quote before any work begins.
CALL FOR A FLAT-RATE QUOTE ON YOUR SPECIFIC SYSTEM
Bradford diagnoses the issue, identifies your exact motor, and provides a firm flat-rate price before any work begins. No hourly billing. No surprises.
(623) 624-6246Bradford's policy: We always replace your motor with the same type your system was designed for — PSC for PSC systems, ECM for ECM systems. We never substitute a cheaper motor type that would reduce your system's efficiency or void your warranty.
Some contractors install cheaper aftermarket motors to improve their margins. Bradford doesn't. Here's why OEM matters for your system.
Most HVAC manufacturers void the equipment warranty if non-OEM parts are used. An aftermarket motor that fails 18 months later could leave you paying for a compressor replacement that should have been covered.
OEM motors are matched to your system's exact CFM (cubic feet per minute) requirements. An aftermarket motor with slightly different RPM or horsepower ratings can cause the evaporator coil to freeze or the system to short-cycle.
OEM motors are engineered to the same tolerances as the rest of your system. Aftermarket motors often use lower-grade bearings and windings that fail faster in Arizona's extreme heat — costing you more in the long run.
In Arizona's summer heat, a failing blower motor can go from "weak airflow" to "frozen coil and compressor damage" in a matter of hours. Don't ignore these warning signs.
The AC is running (outdoor unit is on, you can hear it) but no air is coming from the vents. The blower motor has failed or seized.
Air is coming out but much weaker than normal. The motor may be failing, the capacitor may be weak, or the blower wheel may be clogged with debris.
A humming or buzzing sound from the air handler but no fan movement usually means the motor is receiving power but cannot turn — often a seized bearing or failed run capacitor.
A burning electrical smell when the system runs indicates the motor windings are overheating. Turn the system off immediately to prevent fire risk.
The system turns on and off rapidly. Without adequate airflow, the evaporator coil freezes and trips the system's safety switch.
A failing motor draws more amperage than normal as it struggles to spin. This shows up as a sudden increase in your APS or SRP bill before the motor fails completely.
Bradford checks the motor, run capacitor, control board, and wiring before ordering parts. A failed run capacitor can mimic a failed motor — we confirm the actual cause before replacing anything.
We pull the motor's data plate to identify the manufacturer, model, horsepower, RPM, and frame size. This ensures the replacement is an exact OEM match — not a 'close enough' aftermarket substitute.
Bradford provides a firm flat-rate price for the repair before any work begins. No hourly billing, no surprise charges after the fact.
The failed motor is removed and the OEM replacement is installed, wired, and tested. We also inspect and clean the blower wheel — a clogged wheel is a common cause of motor overheating and premature failure.
After installation, Bradford measures the motor's running amperage and compares it to the nameplate rating to confirm the motor is operating within spec. We also check supply air temperatures to verify the system is cooling properly.
A blower motor replacement is almost always the right call when the system is less than 12 years old and the compressor is healthy. But if you're dealing with a failing motor on a 15+ year old system that also has a weak compressor or refrigerant leak, the math may favor replacement.
Bradford will give you an honest recommendation after the diagnostic — including a replacement quote if that's the better path. We never push unnecessary repairs or replacements.
